"most likely Lebou"
[edit]Is there any source for this being a Lebou word? Sgallison (talk) 19:29, 11 May 2018 (UTC)
Fakelore
[edit]Am I the only one who suspects that Yumboes are fakelore? There is only one source that ever mentions them. And it's from an Irishman who lived in the mid-19th century according to an anonymous young European woman from her anonymous Wolof maid.
There is no reference to them anywhere among any of the Wolof. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vocabularious (talk • contribs) 01:06, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
You're not the only one, but there isn't enough evidence either way to make a solid determination, and this would veer into original research. There are a lot of possibilities. It could even have been a story created by the unknown Wolof woman on her own, and not a tradition. Sgallison (talk) 15:23, 26 January 2023 (UTC)
