Any objections to edit
[edit]Hi, I would just like ask if anyone objects to me doing a complete overhall of the detached youth work section, as it does not read very well, basically because its a series of small sentences listing several unsupported statements about detached work.--Pappin76 23:06, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Any objections to edit again
[edit]Although I rekon nobody cares too much considering that it appears I am the only one who uses this talk page, but anyway I just thought it would be polite to check if anyone minds if I edit the outreach section, as a one line explanation with no references doesn't really help anybody trying to understand the varied approaches to youth work. Pappin76 (talk) 16:39, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- Both proposals fine with me. -- Roleplayer (talk) 00:28, 8 February 2008 (UTC) (a youth worker)
- Cheers User:Roleplayer, I am also considering a complete re-write of the history section as it has been tagged for citations for a long time now, so in my view it would probably make sense to just re-write instead of searching for referneces, although I am conscious of the link to the main History of Youth Work article, which is also tagged, plus the expanding of both Detached and Outreach sections have left the remaining sections looking a little slim on information, all in all as a fellow youth worker, I think you might agree that Youth Work could do with a bit more attention on wiki Pappin76 (talk) 15:15, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
- When did you train? It's a long time since I studied youth work I'm afraid so the theory is a bit rusty! I'm one of the managers now and before you can do that job they suck your brains out through a straw... -- Roleplayer (talk) 15:36, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
- Ouch! maybe we should add a section to warn future managers about that straw...Just finishing my BA degree this year but have been in the field for about 8 or 9 years Pappin76 (talk) 16:08, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
- I have been in youth work for about 20 years and I'm not going to tell you how long ago I did my degree... I think my text books are all probably out of date by now anyway! -- Roleplayer (talk) 18:43, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
Room for improvement
[edit]I've just tidied up one paragraph - on Albemarle. This whole thing, not just the history section, could be a lot better. I'll do what I can, but pushed for time at the moment. Be good to have some company....Alt62 (talk) 14:54, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
