The result of the move request was: moved. While some editors noted that the verb "to yank" might be in contention for the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC of "Yank", the overall discussion resulted in a consensus that – since the verb does not have its own article – a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT to Yankee is appropriate. Yank → Yank (disambiguation) – I believe Yank should be a redirect to Yankee as the primary topic, with a hatnote to the dab page. Clarityfiend (talk) 21:19, 30 June 2023 (UTC)
- https://wikinav.toolforge.org/?language=en&title=Yank indicates that in May '23, 251 people saw the list and 146 clicked on Yankee (~58%). This is unclear territory for primary topics by usage, as it's hard to see that most the remaining 42% were e.g. confused and failed to click on the the first link. Note also we don't see wiktionary clicks in WikiNav, which I noticed here since the wikt template is near the top as well, and it is a pretty common verb as well. --Joy (talk) 15:06, 1 July 2023 (UTC)
- Support. Clear primary redirect. -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:40, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- Support The outgoing view stats don't show an obvious competing primary topic. IMO, the nickname page should be linked to in the hatnote to reduce clicks necessary to get there. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 18:37, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- Support per the numbers noted by Joy [1] (to which I will add the numbers 6%, the next most common click-through, and 24%, the number of unknown "other" destinations). 58% >> 6% ("much more likely than any other single topic") and 58% > 42% ("and more likely than all the other topics combined"). WP:PT1. {{replyto|SilverLocust}} (talk) 01:24, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- Huh? Do people not consider "to pull" the main definition of yank or at least a main definition? DuckDuckGo query yields mostly the verb, a couple for Yankee, and a sprinkling of the magazine. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 16:18, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- A dab page is for navigation. The verb has no article, so your point is moot. Clarityfiend (talk) 11:31, 9 July 2023 (UTC)
