"Modern" Yallourn W?

[edit]

I do question the use of the word "modern" in describing the Yallourn W power station. Perhaps "current" or "present" would be a better term?

I'd agree with that, Canopus. Yes, perhaps 'present-day' or 'current'. Lakolako (talk) 08:56, 13 October 2009 (UTC)lakolako[reply]

GHGe unit conversions from CARMA data

[edit]

This is my first time editing or commenting, so please forgive any contraventions of protocol.

I am looking at the articles on power stations in the Latrobe Valley and have noticed that the greenhouse gas emissions stated in the article do not appear to be correctly interpreted from the source information on http://carma.org/. Whilst the outcome would not be all that substantial, I would prefer the article to be as accurate as possible.

1. CARMA data is in U.S. tons CO2, and the U.S. tons figure has been stated in the W'a article. I suggest it either needs to be multiplied by 0.907 to convert to metric tonnes, to match the units given in the article, or changed to state the correct unit.

2. The W'a article states that the emissions are of "greenhouse gases" (which tends to imply the usual six accounted under Kyoto, and is typically given in tCO2e). However, the source data, again given in the article unconverted, states only CO2.

I'd like to have some reassurance from from others before I have the confidence to go changing multiple articles.

power-generating battery

[edit]

Can anyone clarify what a “350 megawatt power-generating battery” is, this statement doesn’t make any sense. Grimmson (talk) 05:27, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
