New reference
[edit]I've just found this page relating to the series. It has details on ratings (which I see need referencing on the article) and also additional details like who the director is etc. The only problem is I'm new to Wikipedia so not sure how to edit this into the article. Can someone do it for me? Thanks in advance. http://www.comedy.org.uk/guide/tv/would_i_lie_to_you/
The Le'd'gend Angus
[edit]I made the last part of the second section a tad more matter of factly, by changing the Angus Deayton, the ledgendary (sic) presenter phrase. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TheFishMan92 (talk • contribs) 00:40, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
I don't see any reason to call him legendary, so I have removed that part of the sentence. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.3.255.32 (talk) 21:44, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Would I Lie To You.jpg
[edit]Image:Would I Lie To You.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot 16:56, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
Series Two guests
[edit]This is entirely incorrect, where's the source for this information? Luke Spillane (talk) 14:55, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
I am in the process of updating this list. I attended eight recordings of the second series, and I am fairly certain that I remember the guests for each one. (Also, please forgive my multiple edits; I'm not amazingly adept at editing Wiki entries yet!!) Amandaprefect (talk) 22:51, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
No, it's pretty incorrect throughout I'm afraid. I'm not that bothered, just the fact that I'd hate for someone to just make it up. Luke Spillane (talk) 23:17, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
I've updated the guest list - I made a record of guests for most recordings after I went to them, and pieced together the others from memory so I think they're right. I didn't like seeing made-up listings either, so I thought mine would at least be a little more correct! (Unless, of course, the entire series was re-filmed afterwards, cut to six episodes, and the guests put into different shows... unlikely.) Amandaprefect (talk) 11:22, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Ah! Much better, that's all correct, thank you. No idea when the actual series will be shown though, considering they started filming them at the end of last year and said that they'd begin broadcast between January and March. Luke Spillane (talk) 22:13, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
I've checked the listing for the first episode of Series 2 on the Radio Times website (and added it as part of my latest edit to the main page) - it looks as if the series isn't going to be aired in the same order it was filmed (the guest list for the first episode being shown is of those who were at the third filming). What would be the best thing to do - take down the list of filming-order episodes altogether when the series starts airing, or keep it alongside a week-by-week update of screened episodes? It might be handy to have the filming-order list up for reference, but it also might confuse the point a bit!
Nice to see it FINALLY being aired! Amanda Prefect (talk) 13:53, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
The fourth one's got Harry Enfield, Tara Palmer-Tompkinson, Dave Spikey and some lass I've never heard of. I seen it!195.248.109.163 17:16, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
Just to note: Now that the series is airing, I've removed the list of guests from filming from the main page view (although it's still there, just commented out). The shows that have been lined up/shown were getting mixed up with the filming order list (I think someone took that list as a cue to add definite airdates for each show, and nothing's definite yet!), so at this stage it's probably better to re-add shows one-by-one as they're actually aired. Hope that's OK. Amanda Prefect (talk) 09:56, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
Truth & lies
[edit]Should we not get rid of the truth and lies section it is just trivial? Bencey (talk) 01:02, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
Well, I was thinking that although the 'Truth' section may look like trivia, they are nonetheless interesting facts, but it probably has to go, maybe. My concern is more about the 'lie' section. I think that it may just be advertising for the show. In effect, couldn't ANY of the lies told on the show be included? What might be the criteria for choosing the 'lies' for this section? The only one I can think of is 'most incredulous', which would point toward the creativity of the person writing the lie, as opposed to the lie adding to the entry as a whole.
And--when you think about it--do lies need to be printed in an encyclopedia?
I vote to axe the 'lie' section, and I'm waverin' on the truth seciton(but you gotta find SOME way to get the Bin Laden lie in on the text, though, 'cause it's cool)!!!!!!!
But I'll leave the decision to the citizens of Wikkiville, of course.

- Maybe people should actually talk about this so the revert wars can stop?? Personally, I think half the items on the list are fairly random and don't serve much purpose (like Frankie's "psychopath test," which he admitted in the show was something on the internet, and therefore probably not very scientific anyway). Some, however, should definitely be kept. Examples: Dom Joly/bin Laden, Lee Mack/Red Rum, Frankie/coins, Tara/diamond, Jimmy's virginity, and Widdecombe. Possibly a few others. As for the lies, I agree with the concern that they're not very encyclopedic. Maybe just keep a couple as examples of the format? Other thoughts, please! Bangdrum (talk) 15:12, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Series Three guests
[edit]I attended all eight recordings for the third series, and have added the guests for each show. I can, as I did for Series 2, change the order/add scores etc as the series is screened. Amanda Prefect (talk) 00:27, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Would I Lie to You? (TV series) → Would I Lie to You? (game show) – According to WP:NCTV, this is not a "TV series" as it does not feature "continuing story elements". Unreal7 (talk) 18:34, 30 September 2018 (UTC)

- Support – as per WP:NCTV, and article's own lede (note: panel game shows are still game shows), this is most correctly disambiguated with "(game show)". --IJBall (contribs • talk) 21:45, 30 September 2018 (UTC)

Series wins??
[edit]The table under episodes is coloured, and says, "The coloured backgrounds denote the result of each of the series". I am not aware that "series wins" are a thing, e.g. I have never heard them announced on the show. I suggest removing the colours unless there is a reliable source showing series wins exist. Change (game show) to (panel show)?
[edit]Panel show is what is used in the body text to describe the show and is the widely used term in the United Kingdom. Additionally, the guests on the show do not compete for prizes or even symbolic trophies. There is no reference aside from a brief statement at the end of each show of who "won." No episodes of "all winners" or the sort. VectorizeEverything (talk) 22:44, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
- Not sure what to change it to, but game show sounds plain stupid when it's not a game show. - X201 (talk) 17:25, 30 March 2024 (UTC)

"Specials" table
[edit]I propose removing the "unseen bits" and "highlights" episodes from the "Specials" section. They are broadcast immediately after the other episodes so I don't think they qualify as Television specials. Also, these episodes should be included in the (number of) "episodes" column in the "Series" section. In fact, maybe the "Specials" table should be removed entirely, since it's covered at List of Would I Lie to You? episodes. Adpete (talk) 01:52, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- Done -- I moved these, and also the Christmas episodes into the "Series" section. Now it only contains what I think are the only true specials, the two charity episods. Adpete (talk) 01:25, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
