This article conflates the old Workhorse Custom Chassis, LLC company and the new Workhorse Group Incorporated. They are not the same company. Workhorse Group did not acquire Workhorse Custom Chassis. Workhorse Custom Chassis ceased manufacturing in 2012 and was dissolved in 2017.
Workhorse Group was founded in 2007 as AMP Electric Vehicles. In March 2013 it acquired the Workhorse brand, intellectual property, access to the dealer network, assembly plant, and other physical assets.
