The result of the debate was move to Winning. Counting the nominator, the vote was three to one. Also, the disambiguation page at Win does not have any entries that contain the word "winning". -- Kjkolb 09:56, 27 July 2006 (UTC) Winning (film) → Winning … Rationale: Winning currently redirects to Win. I think that this film could take the primary link and if desired a disambiguation to Win could exist at the top. --Brian G 01:36, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

- Oppose. The title is not so uncommon.--Semioli 13:08, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
- Comment - I'm sorry, I'm confused by your posting. If the name of the film is not uncommon, then why shouldn't it take the primary link? Is there something else that is more common? --Brian G 14:51, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
- No, but every time the name is common, the movie goes disambiguated.--Semioli 14:59, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

- Support. With a link at the top to the dab page, this should be fine. -Hit bull, win steak(Moo!) 14:51, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

Luther never apologizes to Frank
[edit]Luther repeatedly tells Frank that the affair "was wrong" and then says that he's out of the picture now. Finally, Luther tells Frank that he's "won". It is at this point that Frank punches Luther. Since it could be argued that the entire title of the film is tied to this point, this really should be changed in the article.70.36.142.25 (talk) 18:12, 27 September 2015 (UTC)

– It is difficult to determine if people are coming from incoming links (as a Paul Newman film), the concept of victory, or because people do know about the film, but Winning (Russ Ballard song) is equally notable based on pageviews alone. © Tbhotch™ (en-3). 22:54, 31 December 2019 (UTC) Pageviews
- Support. This film clearly isn't winning when it comes to the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC criteria... hahaha... I'll see myself out... Nohomersryan (talk) 02:17, 1 January 2020 (UTC)
- Support -- disambiguation is good. Dicklyon (talk) 05:42, 1 January 2020 (UTC)
- Support - its an everyday word, and so disambiguation should be at primary. -- Netoholic @ 11:33, 1 January 2020 (UTC)

Material that was recently added to plot is a great deal of Fabulation
[edit]A great deal of the material added to the Plot Summary on December 7, 2023 by an IP user is not information that is apparent from viewing the film and is POV and probably copied from the Winning novel.
This edit needs to be revised so that only the "Plot" and information apparent from watching the film is presented. Osomite 🐻 (hablemos) 04:57, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
