Captain of the New York Yankees

[edit]

Nothing in this article mentions he was co-captains with Ron Guidry of the Yankees from 1986 - 1988.

The information can be found here -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_New_York_Yankees_captains Mattsky (talk) 20:20, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Opinion

[edit]

This page is terrible. No picture, no stats, little information about him managing the New York Mets. Needs to be expanded. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.123.214.109 (talkcontribs) 15:44, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

.400

[edit]

I find it impossible to believe that only three players have hit .400 in the month of April. I am taking that claim out. Please give a citation if it's actually true. CoramVobis 16:35, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Needs some work

[edit]

The picture needs to be sized down...a lot. I would do it, but I have no idea how. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Resident16 (talkcontribs) 14:42, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ring for 1978 Yankees?

[edit]

Did Randolph get a World Series for the 1978 Yankees? He wasn't on the World Series roster because of an injury, and he was replaced by Brian Doyle. I always wondered exactly which players for a team get a World Series ring, just the ones on the roster? Is there a rule that determines who gets one?Bronxpolwatcher (talk) 19:16, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Yankees credit him with a ‘78 title (along with ‘77). His plaque in monument park says so and I suggest the people who deleted ‘78 from his record look up the plaque. Whether he played in the series or not is irrelevant, he was on the team so he’s part of the championship.

Per Wikipedia standards a player must have been on the World Series roster to have inclusion in the infobox. See Frank Thomas and Ronald Acuna as fellow examples.-- Yankees10 19:13, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That’s nonsense, he is officially credited with a championship by the team and MLB 24.44.110.29 (talk) 02:30, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
