Was he descendant of renowned Scottish immigrant William Forbes / Furbish, May 8, 1631–1694?

Some sources describe him as mulatto?

Did he serve in the USCI in Arkansas? What brought him there?

Are there any extant copies of his newspaper?

Where is the coverage of events he was involved in while in Colorado?
