[edit]Assuming that the 1913 Speaker pro tem is the same person, it would seem that he was one of thsoe who bolted to the "Bull Moose" (Progressive) party along with Roosevelt in 1914. However, without evidence this would be original research, so I have not included it in the article proper. If evidence could be found this would be of interst. There might well be a print biography, autobiography or memoir in a library soemwhere, most likely in California. DES (talk) 20:26, 10 September 2013 (UTC)
