[edit]I agree they should be merged, obviously about the same person. Hellfire83 14:36, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Contradictory info
[edit]The article first states that Grupe/Homburg changed his name in the US because it was mispronounced, but later states that the name change was done in order to hide his origins. Olessi 16:11, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
- I've taken out the "alleged" information about hiding his poor roots as I could not find any information regarding this online. -- WORMMЯOW 09:45, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
- It also says his family moved to "West Germany" in 1940 (West Germany wasn't formed until 1949) "as Allied forces air raids took over Berlin" (the Allies didn't begin systematic bombing of Berlin until 1943-44), and that because he was "rebellious" he became "involved with...sex" when he was well into his twenties. Even in the 1960s, waiting until one was in one's twenties and established in a career before beginning a sex life was hardly considered "rebellious". These points, the general tone of the article, and lack of citation support means the whole thing requires extensive cleanup. 71.200.89.119 (talk) 11:52, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
- Grupe is not pronounced 'groupie', it's pronounced groopuh. The e on the end is a schwa. This article seriously needs cleaned up due to false information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.33.141.151 (talk) 02:10, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

Very detailed source
[edit]This article outlines the man's history (from family to cause of death) and many, many vices and issues. Please someone mine, cite, and use it in this article which is otherwise a puff piece. http://deadspin.com/the-hateful-life-and-spiteful-death-of-the-man-who-was-1737376537 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.175.56.58 (talk) 05:43, 18 January 2016 (UTC)
- It seems rather odd to cite this in this article quite so many times whilst not accounting for many of the elements of his life which clearly inspired that article's title... not least the alleged fathering of his "sister". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.109.195.154 (talk) 00:48, 12 June 2023 (UTC)
Contradictory Information II
[edit]HI, ref 3 says his crime was never investigated, ref 4 says he was guilty of raping his step mother. BLP concern, I'd say. T 85.166.162.8 (talk) 04:57, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
Who's Richard?
[edit]"when Richard accused..." I assume from the context that's his father, but Richard's identity is not introduced earlier in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.200.242.211 (talk) 10:24, 31 August 2020 (UTC)
Sorry, the relevant passage was about his father not about him.
Did he start boxing when he was 6?
[edit]It says he was born in 1940 but started his boxing career in 1946.
Later it says he started training when he was 10 (so 1950), so he was boxing BEFORE he trained? 86.165.72.247 (talk) 09:23, 2 November 2023 (UTC)
