Grammar, readability
[edit]This article needs some serious clean up. It' very difficult to read. --Bentonia School 08:36, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- It also needs a list of members and dates of tenure. It would seem from the prose that considerably more than the 4 people listed in the infobox have been in the band. --kingboyk 22:33, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
In the trivia section where it quotes the "Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" was sampled in the White Zombie song "Thunder Kiss 65", it was actually sampled in the song "Welcome to the planet motherfucker".
Fair use rationale for Image:White Zombie Logo.png
[edit]Image:White Zombie Logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Sorting this page out
[edit]This page, and many related pages are at present fucking awful. No sources at all for a start. And by the way, you can't just create a page for every single song on an album. They're just not notable, failing WP:MUSIC. Hopefully most of these will get deleted over the next few days. Blackmetalbaz (talk) 21:31, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
Album title / page redirect
[edit]I don't know how to do this or else I would do it myself. The correct title of the album is LA SEXORCISTO: DEVIL MUSIC, VOL. 1 (numerous sources confirm this, including the album cover, but what I just posted is a copy and paste from the Rob Zombie website).
Not only is the actual title Vol. 1, not Volume One, but there is a comma in there.
Someone created a new page and the old one now redirects to it, which points to the wrong title. Can someone fix it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Noneof yourbusiness48 (talk • contribs) 13:08, 23 December 2015 (UTC)

Untitled
[edit]White Zombie was Groove Metal
Paul ENA Kostabi did NOT form White Zombie. This was formed by Rob Zombie. Ena had drug serious drug problems which led to his firing out of the band after the first album. —————
§The term Groove Metal did not exist when White Zombie first came out. Therefore, you cannot simply list them as Groove Metal. Yes, they are Groove Metal, but they couldn't be called something that didn't exist. Noneof yourbusiness48 (talk) 13:17, 23 December 2015 (UTC)
Genre
[edit]This inevitably happens to every band at some point on Wikipedia. A user comes along and decides that they don't like a certain genre being listed. But, I think Wikipedia has an interesting policy on notability that should apply to genres as well... To determine if someone is notable enough for a page, we ask if they are now or ever were notable. If today, someone meets the criteria of being notable, then even if no one were to ever speak another word about this person, they will still be notable forever.
The same should apply to genres. White Zombie may have never played the typical Heavy Metal music, but they were known as a Heavy Metal band. Therefore, they should always be remembered as a Heavy Metal band.
Think of someone like Taylor Swift, who went from Country to Pop. Are we going to delete her being listed as Country? Of course not. We will simply add Pop to her list. Or Elvis Presley, who played Rhythm and Blues because Rock and Roll didn't exist until Alan Freed coined the phrase. - still listed as Rhythm and Blues. And that, is what should be done here with White Zombie. They are Heavy Metal. They may be something else in addition. But we do not delete the old genre. Noneof yourbusiness48 (talk) 15:57, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
This is all your personal opinion RE White Zombie's genre. The fact of the matter is that the majority of sources call them an Alternative metal and Industrial metal band. It's not historical revisionism either, back in the 1990s they were commonly labelled as such. Two of the sources on this page calling them those genres were written back in 1998. I've added a source for "heavy metal", so it can stay, but "groove metal" is unsourced, so it's going. --I call the big one bitey (talk) 01:35, 29 December 2015 (UTC)

[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

– Far more popular, see WP:TWODABS. Convert dab page into a hatnote here. If someone can dredge up several plausible "White Zombie"s, then move them to White Zombie (disambiguation) ―Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 23:28, 20 April 2020 (UTC)

- Oppose - The DAB page is certainly incomplete (in 5 min I added 3 entries), and both the band and the film have long-term significance, so there is WP:NOPRIMARY. -- Netoholic @ 05:44, 21 April 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose I'd say that the film is the primary topic, but the current disambig setup work just fine. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 11:27, 21 April 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose. No primary topic here. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:24, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
- Support I think for ease of searching the band should be the primary result, with a "Did you mean White Zombie (movie)" at the top of the page... what are those things called anyway? MrAureliusRTalk! 22:48, 23 April 2020 (UTC)

- Oppose Not the primary topic. ~ HAL333 06:21, 24 April 2020 (UTC)
- Support. Both the band and the film have long-term significance, so either could be primary, and traffic stats show that the band is primary. -- JHunterJ (talk) 17:58, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

Why is Pig Heaven classified as an EP?
[edit]It's only 2 tracks and is less than 10mins overall. Yet every instance on Wiki calls it an EP. But quick searches online also classifies it as a single. If anyone else agrees, I'll probably change all of the instances. (FYI I noticed that on one of the compilations, a few songs "from the same session" got released, but Pig Heaven wasn't re-released individually with those songs; otherwise, then it would've indeed be an EP) Xanarki (talk) 07:13, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
