Paul Griffiths

[edit]

I removed the link to Paul Griffiths (Wales) as this libretto was written by a different Welsh Paul Griffiths. Small world, eh? 201.241.157.54 (talk) 23:28, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, Griffiths is a Welsh name, and Paul a very common given name, so perhaps it should not be unexpected that two or more Welshmen of that name are prominent figures. What astonishes me is that there is no Wikipedia article on the distinguished music critic of this name, who is also the librettist in question.—Jerome Kohl (talk) 02:11, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

U.S. Premiere

[edit]

Someone had better check the data on the U.S. premiere. I personally attended a 2000 performance in Chicago under Barenboim, and I think that THAT was the U.S. premiere. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sparky1895 (talkcontribs) 17:59, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Was it a staged premiere (at the Chicago Lyric, perhaps?), or a concert performance? The lede refers to a staged premiere.—Jerome Kohl (talk) 18:51, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
