Western FastRail?
[edit]Why was the Western FastRail page used for this? They are completely different projects, and there is no source whatsoever suggesting that the West Metro is the continuation of the Western FastRail project. Most of this page is speculation - even the map only shows one route. This should be changed back and a new page written to reflect the Western FastRail project as a separate idea. - You are correct that Western FastRail and West Metro are different projects. The page for Western FastRail has been restored. However many sources already included in the article (including those official ones released by the NSW Government) indicates that both projects has the same aim to relieve the Western Line as it is currently operating at maximum capacity. Western FastRail have not had any progress since 2006 (source). But we will wait until further confirmation are released about the cancellation of the Western FastRail project or if it is being replaced.
- Information on this page are NOT speculation, all of the information have been sourced either from Sydney Morning Herald or the SydneyLink website itself.
- About the map - it takes me quite a long time to draw the map - so give me some time to update it with the second alignment. It's hard you know. --Pikablu0530 (talk) 10:09, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- We want to get rid of Nathan Rees! He is Dead Meat.
Metro Articles
[edit]I would be careful about expending too much time and effort on articles like this, as realistically the track record of the NSW government suggests that they all have little chance of ever being built. These plans and proposols seem to come and go at ministerial whim. I would suggest merging this, the South East Metro and maybe even the North West Metro into a Metro proposals for Sydney (or something) page. That way if it all gets dumped, which I am sure it will, then there will be some historical record.MrHarper (talk) 06:56, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
