Improved Map
[edit]I suggest a replacement map, more at a town or county scale, in order to improve this article on WCH.
The current (2016) map appears to be more appropriate for an article on the State of California, USA. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.183.224.2 (talk) 16:33, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
- This is a good idea, but there is the issue of how to find maps that are compatible with WP's license. There are USGS topos from 1981 and 2015. The 2015 topo falls within the 2010-2016 when USGS topos contained copyrighted data: https://www.usgs.gov/faqs/are-us-topo-maps-copyrighted The 1981 topo is extremely out of date. It doesn't show the earth-moving project that allowed Gilbert to be extended north. I believe openstreemaps.org data are also legally encumbered.--76.169.116.244 (talk) 17:30, 16 February 2019 (UTC)
