Name

[edit]

The legal entity of Flights Hallmark is now trading as "Wessex" and "Wessex Red" and not Wessex Connect, this is why the article name was changed. Also these articles may not be names after the legal entity, but reference is made to it in the article. Mark999 (talk) 12:22, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wessex ConnectWessex (bus company) – Per comments at User talk:CT Cooper#Wessex Connect, I am requesting this article be moved on behalf of Mark999 (talk · contribs), on grounds that the company name has changed. I have made a minor change to the proposal with "bus" now in lower-case, to reflect standard practice. CT Cooper · talk 19:32, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose – no bus company exists named "Wessex" or even "Wessex Connect". Anyone can verify this by using the Companies House "WebCHeck" service at http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/info. Lmatt (talk) 23:07, 22 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Favour - Indeed no company is called that, but Flights Hallmark operate a number of brands across the country look at other articles for information. Also have taken this from their website "Wessex is a trading brand of Flights Hallmark Limited. " which is very clear, I am also waiting for email conformation in order to double check this, and as I have already made clear to Lmatt we do not necessarily name articles after the legal company. It is made clear on the Flights Hallmark and Rotala articles that Rotala purchased Flights Hallmark and used them to start and purchase operations across the country. But we often use trading names, and in this case we are referring to Wessex and Wessex Red being trading names of Flights Hallmark, we do not put on every article where a company is mentioned X trading as Y, we put Y and people can look at the article on Y for information. Regrading the Wessex Connect name this was originally used but when Ulink was re-branded to Wessex Red the connect part has been dropped, all mention has been removed from buses, although it is still mentioned on the website this is because Rotala are very poor on keeping there websites updated. I hope this is an end to the matter.Mark999 (talk) 23:25, 22 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • For the record I do have confirmation from Rotala that they have changed there name from Wessex Connect to Wessex, but other associated websites have yet to be updated, although buses and depots have been re branded. These websites are not likely to be updated for years to come. So I guess we are stuck in limbo until this time. Mark999 (talk) 14:02, 23 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Also I propose a new name of Wessex (bus brand) and to make it clear the Rotala operated Wessex under there subsidiary Flights Hallmark, this is only the legal situation. Mark999 (talk) 14:05, 23 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • The evidence I have in favour of my proposal so far is as follows 1: An email from the company confirming there name is Wessex and no longer Wessex Connect. 2: Photos of the buses showing the name Wessex and no longer Wessex Connect. 3: Old and New timetables at bus stops showing the name change from Wessex Connect to Wessex. 4: They have registered the website wessexbus.co.uk and .com Mark999 (talk) 18:32, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose until the term used in reliable sources establishes something else as the WP:COMMON NAME. In any case, shouldn't the proposal be to move to Wessex (bus brand), as it doesn't appear to be a separate company? -- Trevj (talk) 06:29, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Name Update

[edit]

Just an update that on new timetables and maps as well as in the media they are now referred to as Wessex. (Admitted older timetbales ect do still say connect) but I believe the common name now is just Wessex. Mark999 (talk) 16:11, 4 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Keynsham Depot

[edit]

If you look the Keynsham depot was based at unit 53 at Burnett Business Park. If you look at http://www.businessparks.co.uk/Business-Parks-360.html you will see Unit 53 is now occupied by M&M transport! Mark999 (talk) 10:56, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
