I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Welcome Centers in the United States's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "NACo":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 16:15, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Incorporating the welcome center locations

[edit]

I have a great suggestion for the welcome center list. Why not use the welcome center locations to add them to the exit lists in all the Interstates? For example, Exit 2 of I-84 in Connecticut could say "...welcome center" or something like that? Jay (talk) 01:59, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Table notes

[edit]

Just to explain my reasoning for doing so, I will be removing the "NOTE: This welcome center is..." from each entity from the table; it's too repetitive and the removal of each helps reduce the size of the article. And also note that the milepost location does not necessarily mean "Exit [foo]" especially in states that don't use milepost-based exit numbering. —Mr. Matté (Talk/Contrib) 23:27, 12 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good about the edits. I appreciate your work on the list. :) Jay (talk) 18:46, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

One small request. Could you or someone else add the welcome center locations on the exit lists of the interstate, U.S. Routes, and state roads articles? That would be a great help to travelers and people who are interested in learning more about the interstate or other road. Jay (talk) 19:00, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Tilford, SD and additions

[edit]

I was wondering if someone could add a link for Tilford, SD and incorporate the welcome centers et al. into the road articles. Many thanks! Jay (talk) 06:37, 30 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Taken care of Tilford, SD. Please incorporate the welcome/visitors centers into the road articles. Many thanks! Jay (talk) 06:06, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Multiple issues template

[edit]

I think the selections that I chose for the template are self-explanatory, but I will add that I started a discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject U.S. Roads#Welcome centers in the United States article (may need to search archive sometime after this posting) and of course discussion is appropriate here also. Mapsax (talk) 15:10, 23 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I missed that discussion, but I have to ask why the NRHP listed Georgia Welcome Center along US 301 in Screven County, Georgia isn't listed among the Georgia Welcome Centers. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 05:29, 30 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Inaccurate information

[edit]

It has the Augusta welcome center as being in Columbia County. I checked, it is well witin the City of Augusta, and therefore, Richmond County. I am changing it to reflect this. Also, there is no exit 201 (it ends at 200). It is at mile marker 201, but not exit 201. 45.17.195.157 (talk) 21:28, 24 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A lot of them are incorrectly listed as being at interchanges that don't exist. The one at Exit 1 on I-95 in Kingsland, Georgia is correct, though. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 13:16, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Umm ditto. I just looked and I’ve noticed at least two (probably more) in West Virginia that were erroneously listed as “exits” when they should say “located at mile marker (insert number)”. There’s probably a lot more. I’m going to see what WikiProject this falls under and probably post it on that talk page too. West Virginia WXeditor (talk) 03:12, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicates and other issues

[edit]

The northbound I-95 Welcome Center and "2424 Haddock Road " in Kingsland, Georgia are one in the same, but I can't fix the thing without messing up the list. Come to think of it, with at least one exception, many of the addresses are for local streets behind welcome centers off of Interstate highways. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 15:03, 23 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
