[edit]Hey Jaywubba1887. Welcome to Wikipedia. If you haven't worked out how to edit stuff yet, here's how: click that bit at the top that says "edit this page" (as if it wasn't obvious) and type what you want. Don't worry if you mess it up, someone'll fix it, but please don't deliberately vandalise pages. If you want to link to another article, just surround the subject with two square brackets, [[like this]]. On talk pages like this one, don't forget to sign after a message by putting four tildes (~~~~) after your message. If you have any questions, just ask me. Have a great time on Wikipedia. -- Kazikameuk 23:24, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
Hello. I want to learn how to create a new article. Jay 23:28, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
Sure. Just go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/???? , replacing the question marks with the name of the article you want to create (replace any spaces with underscores). -- Kazikameuk 00:00, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
UNG
[edit]Hi. This may seem as a bit of an unconventional request, but for the time being would you mind postponing any editing to the University of North Georgia's page? Currently I am involved in an internship for my school (UNG) in which I have to commit a certain (large) amount of hours to editing this entry. Honestly, I need to write as much of it on my own as I possibly can until this semester ends. So if you wouldn't mind putting that one on the backburner for a while, I can guarantee that the entry will be extremely thorough by this Spring.
Also, I apologize if this isn't the best way to contact you about this matter. I'm still a bit new to corresponding with fellow wiki contributors.
Cheers,
sorry, forgot to include my user name.

Tivoli Theatre (Chattanooga, Tennessee)
[edit]Hi. I reviewed the DYK nomination for the article Tivoli Theatre (Chattanooga, Tennessee), at Template:Did you know nominations/Tivoli Theatre (Chattanooga, Tennessee). I found that much of the article text had been copied from sources, with only slight alteration of the wording. This is a violation of copyright, which is something that Wikipedia cannot allow. Please be sure that the text you contribute to Wikipedia is in your own words.
Also, I have a piece of advice. When you give names to references (in <ref name=>), it is best to use names that can be clearly and unambiguously associated with a specific source. This reduces the possibility of errors -- by you or by other contributors -- due to confusion about ref names. The author's name (or author's name and year) or publication name is usually a good choice. It is best to avoid names that resemble the title of the Wikipedia article. For example, "Zietz" would be a much less confusing ref name to use in that article than "Tivoli Theatre (Chattanooga)". --Orlady (talk) 15:51, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

"Route" numbers at Greyhound? "Route" numbers do not exist at Greyhound.
[edit]Your recent edits at a list of purported Greyhound "route" numbers have attracted my attention.
Route numbers do not exist at Greyhound; the numbers in question are timetable numbers, not "route" numbers.
Greyhound does not assign numbers to its routes.
Please read my explanation on the talk page attached to that same article.
If you have a question or other response, please let me know.
I respectfully suggest and request that you revise the subject article in such a way as to describe those numbers as timetable numbers, not route numbers.
Also I cordially invite you to check out my own website, entitled Bluehounds and Redhounds.
Smiles!

Your draft article, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Med-El
[edit]Hello Jaywubba1887. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Med-El".
The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply {{db-afc}}
or {{db-g13}}
code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Med-El}}
, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 18:03, 2 October 2014 (UTC)

Mobile edits
[edit]Hi. Thanks for the message on my talk page; i notice you have felt it necessary to add them to several people's pages as well; it seems that there is definitely an issue with your connexion or your device or the coding of the app. I also saw that you edited the archive of the noticeboard where your editing was brought up late last month. You are asked not to edit an archive directly, as no one will then know it has been edited. You have been reverted, so no harm, no foul. So long as the deletions of material cease, i would think that no one will ask anything else of you. Thanks again, Cheers, LindsayHello 07:28, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for responding to my message. I agree with you on that there's some kind of technical foul up on my device or the app. I have decided to no longer edit on the app so that the deletions won't continue. I'll just use the full version from now on. Thanks again for letting me know about everything. Cheers, Jay (talk) 17:30, 28 February 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Hi,
In this edit, you removed a significant amount of information relating to the Japanese and Peruvian operations.
I'm assuming that this was a mistake on your part, but please take care when editing in future- this caused significant damage to the article that might not otherwise have been spotted if I hadn't been looking for something else at the time.

Drake & Josh episode articles
[edit]I see that you recently created a few articles for some episodes of Drake and Josh. However, the convention of the article titles were incorrect.
Article titles for episode pages should not go in the format of "Drake & Josh: [episode name]". Rather, they should be like this:
- [episode name] (Drake & Josh)
The disambiguator at the end should only go at the end if there is another article with that title; if there is not, as with the case of Two Idiots and a Baby, leave out the disambiguator.
Also note that most of the episode articles are already created; they're just redirects of List of Drake & Josh episodes. You can find the list of redirects here. Try creating the article from the redirect instead of from scratch.
Please keep this in mind when creating future articles. Thank you. SkyWarrior 01:08, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
- As for whether or not these episodes are even notable to have articles in the first place, well, that's a discussion for another time (see WP:FICT and MOS:TV). SkyWarrior 01:08, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
- They do not seem to be notable, which I don't feel is surprising. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 06:08, 4 May 2017 (UTC)

Reverting
[edit]When someone validly reverts you, as I did as the Veganism article, it is best that you do not simply restore your changes, such as "and/or" when WP:ANDOR is clear that we usually avoid "and/or." The circumstances under which we should use "and/or" are clear. Why do you think that use of "and/or" is an exception in this case? Regarding "sometimes," you did come back and change it up so that "sometimes" is not needed, but you added excessive and redundant detail. All you needed to do, if you were that determined to remove "sometimes," as if "sometimes" is not valid and standard English, was change it to "can be" (or "may be") and leave it at "can be" (or "may be"). Not add the rest. In the future, consider what WP:Bold, revert, discuss states. Discussing a dispute on a talk page goes a long way. WP:Edit warring can be stopped quick with a report or one or both editors being WP:Blocked. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 10:38, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
Also, any time someone tries to use "and/or," there is always some editor who comes around and removes it based on the WP:ANDOR guideline. It's why I got that guideline softened last year. But it does not appear to have helped much, if at all. So it's better to just avoid "and/or" (unless it's part of a quote that improves the article) since it'll likely be removed (debated or edit warred over) regardless. September 2018
[edit]Your recent editing history at American cuisine shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Edit summaries
[edit]Please ensure that your edit summaries reflect the actual changes. Also I'm pretty sure you know what 'grammar' means. JACKINTHEBOX • TALK 09:51, 15 February 2019 (UTC)
- Reiterating the request above. You are describing edits that have nothing to do with grammar as "Fixed grammar". Stop, please. General Ization Talk 00:58, 24 March 2019 (UTC)

- JackintheBox, General Ization, and NSH001, it's clear that this editor needs to be reported since the editor is still using the inaccurate "grammar" edit summaries. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 23:01, 2 June 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Right of expatriates to vote in their country of origin, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Washington State (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:16, 1 May 2019 (UTC)

More careful editing, please
[edit]Hello, I see here that you are getting large numbers of (1) disambiguation link warnings. Could you please, as part of the check before you publish your changes, preview your edits and see where the links lead? If you do not use them yet, you may find that navigation popups simplify this. I also see that you made a (2) long series of edits to Calendar date ([4]); it would make for less clutter if you were to do such things in a single edit, or at most a small number of edits. I also note in those edits that you are still using (3) manifestly misleading edit summaries such as “Fixed grammar” and “Fixed typo”, despite several requests to be more careful. Would you please take more care in future? PJTraill (talk) 13:58, 4 June 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Please don't change the format of dates, as you did to Astronaut. As a general rule, if an article has evolved using predominantly one format, the dates should be left in the format they were originally written in, unless there are reasons for changing it based on strong national ties to the topic. Please also note that Wikipedia does not use ordinal suffixes (e.g., st, nd, th), articles, or leading zeros on dates.
For more information about how dates should be written on Wikipedia, please see this page.
If you have any questions about this, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}}
on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Enjoy your time on Wikipedia. Thank you. JustinTime55 (talk) 18:30, 8 July 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Participation in a research study of Wikipedians
[edit]Hi Jaywubba1887,
My name is Lara Yang, and I am a PhD student in Organizational Behavior at Stanford University. As a part of a research study to better understand work dynamics on Wikipedia, our research team is currently conducting interviews with Wikipedians. Because you are an active editor on Wikipedia, we would love to learn more about your work and hear your perspective on how Wikipedia, and open-source communities in general, function to produce and organize high-quality knowledge. We have done our best to learn about the dynamics of collaboration on Wikipedia from secondary sources, which we are hoping to complement with your invaluable first-hand insights.
The interview will take around 45 minutes and be semi-structured in format. Any identifying information in your responses will be kept strictly confidential, and will not be disclosed in the analysis nor the research paper. If you are interested in participating, please email us via the 'Email this user' tool on my user page and suggest a few time slots in the upcoming weeks that work best for you. We will do our best to accommodate your schedule. Should you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to let us know. We look forward to hearing from you.
Best, Lara aka Wanderingpotato (talk) 18:34, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
