Merge proposal discussion

[edit]

For: (I am the original proposer of the merge). The TV series article info is already mostly in the main Weird Science article, and I feel there's little to be gained by making the information separate anyway. I'd assume that most people are interested in seeing one in the context of the other, and it's not like there is so much material that it needs splitting. • Against: The article on the television show should be longer as it had a reasonably long run, has a somewhat interesting history of syndication, and is somewhat recent. I'll try to do some research and expand it later. -Drdisque 17:47, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Against As reasons above. Also, I might make a page about the single/song Weird Science by Oingo Boing, juts letting you know in advance so that the info doesn't clutter up this page about the movie. --Rachel Cakes 10:31, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Possible copyvio

[edit]

At least some of this is ripped right from the IMDB entry, particularly the trivia bit about Kelly leBrock almost turning down the role. I'm not really a film guy though, so i don't really know how IMDB and copyright work. Anyone wanna check it out? Murderbike 06:13, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

House images

[edit]

Where did those images of the house come from? That's not the one in the movie, at least not on the outside. The house was at approximately 286 Cedar Avenue (south side of the road) in Highland Park. It was torn down sometime between 1992 and 1994, and replaced with a much larger white stucco "southwest" style house with a clay tile roof. The Google street view doesn't really show the new house well since there's so much vegetation in the front yard. Still, here's a video capture of the house in the movie, which is obviously not the one in the article. Jjakucyk (talk) 18:43, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If the house was torn down during the time you state, how was is used in a later movie, 2001's Not Another Teen Movie? Coffee4binky (talk) 16:35, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The house in Not Another Teen Movie is not the same as the one in Weird Science. Jjakucyk (talk) 22:55, 23 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Icee not Slushie

[edit]

It was one single Icee drink dumped on them, not 2 or more "slushie" drinks. I corrected this error. | Ateo (talk) 05:38, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

From intro

[edit]

Quote: The film's producer Joel Silver acquired film rights to the pre-Comics Code Authority 1950s EC Comics magazine Weird Science, from which the plot is developed as an expansion and modernization of the basic premise in Al Feldstein's story "Made of the Future" in the fifth issue.

What the hell does that mean? Is this about the comic, the movie, the TV series? How does Al Feldstein come into this? Maikel (talk) 21:25, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Plot

[edit]

IMO the plot needs to be rewritten and tightened. As it is right now, there's too much slack. Maikel (talk) 21:58, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have looked through IMDB and fail to see where Leslie Mann is in this film. She was 13 years old when it was filmed so I don't think she a High Scchool Student in this film. I think this should be fixed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.119.35.8 (talk) 21:55, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have fixed the inconsistency. There is no need to swear, next time you can bring up any issues you have with an article politely or alternatively, you can fix it yourself. - Kollision (talk) 04:12, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sountrack & songs IN the film

[edit]

Could someone please expand the entry for other songs in the film that were NOT included in the soundtrack? Some of these songs, imho, are better than the songs that WERE included in the soundtrack, such as Van Halen's version of "Pretty Woman" and Ratt's "The Wanted Man". Thanks!
