[edit]Out of sheer curiousity, how did this episode imply that Helen Lovejoy used to be a man named Harold? I must have missed it. -- A talk/contribs 01:27, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
- the parson said he remembered her a helen something about her maiden name then said he remembered when she was harold same maiden name —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.227.222.206 (talk) 02:51, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

Bungled move
[edit]92.233.156.165 had the right idea but wrong exection: He properly tried to rename the article to "Wedding for Disaster" (note the lower-case 'for'), but improperly used the dreaded copy-and-paste method instead of using the "Move" tab. As a result, we'll need to get an administrator to do it for us. Meanwhile, I've undid his blanking of this article. YLee (talk) 08:10, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
Bing Crosby?
[edit]I thought the Parson (not pastor as it says in the article) was a sure fire homage to Robert Mitchum who is most known for playing a "holy man" in Night of the Hunter. The Simpsons has done a lot of things inspired by Mitchum in the past. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Timboz (talk • contribs) 13:34, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
- No, it's definitely Crosby. Physical resemblance, voice (both speaking and singing or, more accurately, crooning), the golf clubs. Crosby won an Oscar for playing a priest on Going My Way. We need a citable source for all these points, though. YLee (talk) 14:15, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
Episode Image
[edit]Every episode has its own image, I am just wondering why there isn't one for this page. Can upload an image for it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by A9l8e7n (talk • contribs) 22:48, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Really a Sideshow Bob Episode?
[edit]I don't see why people are classifying this episode as an Sideshow Bob episode, considering how he had nothing to do with Homer's abduction and did not play a major role in the episode. I would think that this would be considered an episode that Sideshow Bob appears in, but not a Sideshow Bob episode. If enough people agree with me I would suggest the episode name be taken off the template and from the Sideshow Bob page. 174.100.128.149 (talk) 20:27, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
- I agree with you. CTJF83Talk 20:51, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
I dunno. I think the template should be kept since it lists all the times Kelsey Grammer has appeared as Bob on the show. TheLeftorium 21:12, 4 April 2009 (UTC)- Actually, I think you guys might be right. —TheLeftorium 21:22, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
- I agree as well. Rhino131 (talk) 21:54, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for your input. I just fixed the template and the Sideshow Bob page. Hopefully, this won't result in an edit war. 174.100.128.149 (talk) 21:32, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
- I agree as well. Rhino131 (talk) 21:54, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Back to the Future
[edit]Wouldn't the line "If my parents don't get married, I'll never be born!", by Bart, be a Back to the Future reference? It was certainly a line from the movie (or at least close to one), and would definetely go well in the "Cultural References" section. Zepe fixer2
- You'd need a reference. CTJF83Talk 03:40, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
SB
[edit]I think it would greatly improve the summary to have all the possible SBs mentioned. It's something I can't make out, the Sultan of Brunei, the former Polish secret police, the Służba Bezpieczeństwa and Selma Bouvier.
Or is this irrelevant? I personally think it's humorous and important to the plot. Aastrup (talk) 13:33, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
- So, what are you saying? CTJF83Talk 14:34, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
- Just that I couldn't make out Scott Baio. But it has been added and all is good. Aastrup (talk) 15:53, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
Is the other SBs relevant?
[edit]Sideshow Bob lists other possible "S.B."s: Scott Baio, the Sultan of Brunei and the former Polish secret police the Służba Bezpieczeństwa. I think those are both humorous and interesting to know for any wanting to read about this episode and follow the links to learn more. They have been removed before, but I think it's a shame. Aastrup (talk) 14:00, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
- They really have nothing to do with the plot. CTJF83 chat 19:41, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
