Capitalization

I recently moved the page from "Web Storage" to "web storage", and it looks like it has been controversial, so let me explain here. Unlike the sciences and the computer industry, which often prefer capitalization, Wikipedia usually prefers not to capitalize. To pick an example from computing, most sources refer to Object Oriented Programming with capital letters, but the Wikipedia article is named object-oriented programming. The actual standard for whether we should use capitals is not what the industry normally uses, but whether the word or phrase is a proper noun. Usually concepts in programming aren't proper nouns (hence we have a lowercase "cookie" in HTTP cookie), and while I realise there can be exceptions, I don't see a good reason for making one here. A good acid test for whether something is a proper noun is to check if it is consistently capitalized in sources. I admit that most of the references to web storage are capitalized, but a little searching easily turned up some counterexamples.[1][2] If it turns out that "Web Storage" is actually a trademarked phrase or similar, then I will be happy to reconsider my views, but in the meantime I shall restore the lower-case version. DOM Storage

Periodically, turn off DOM storage and delete all cookies. Close the browser. As some sites will not work without you being tracked, reenable DOM storage when you reopen your browser.
