This article is the result of a split from Waverley Steps. The original article now deals with the actual steps, while this article is about the film. See the original article's Talk page for a (short) discussion regarding the split. As a result of the split, the original article is more or less reduced to a stub. The original version of this article - as well as many of the sources that it cited - described the locomotive seen approaching Waverley Station in the opening shot as the Flying Scotsman. It most clearly isn't. It is clearly a Class A4 locomotive (the Scotsman is an A3 Pacific), and you can just catch a glimpse of its nameplate, Union of South Africa. The other locomotive seen at the start of the film is clearly the Merlin, which was also an A4. I have corrected this in this version of the article.
