Widespread Panic abbreviated as WSP
[edit]The American jam band Widespread Panic is abbreviated in writing as WSP by fans and music collectors (as well as journalists and many others) very frequently. Below are a number of online sources that show this:
- http://www.panicstream.com/ ("Today in WSP History")
- http://www.jambase.com/article/widespread-panic-celebrates-50th-consecutive-red-rocks-sellout ("“Arleen” saw WSP aided by tour manager Steve Lopez on percussion.") - journalist example
- https://www.vividseats.com/concerts/widespread-panic-tickets.html ("Look through the WSP tour schedule at the top of the page until you find a concert taking place in a city near you.") - ticket reseller
- http://liveforlivemusic.com/news/widespread-panic-brings-special-guests-nye-bust-outs-nashville/ ("calling on special guests throughout three full sets of music from WSP." + many other examples in the article) - another journalist
- http://week4paug.net/index.php?topic=8330.0 (all throughout the first post) - this is a fan forum and admittedly, mostly a humorous post but regardless fans do in fact refer to the band as WSP in writing a lot (probably more than "Widespread Panic") and there is some validity to the post.
- https://jam.buzz/instant-classic-listen-widespread-panic-bust-explosive-l-woman-first-time-since-1997/ ("PanicStream.com reports that there have been a whopping 1,462 shows since WSP played the Doors classic last.") - yet another journalist--Sk8punk3d288 (talk) 02:35, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
