Oppose both present title and proposed title. This spaced en dash is not used in a standard way recommended in WP:DASH (part of WP:MOS); and similarly for the capitalisation. Such an irregular en dash can be misread, or at least it can delay comprehension because it looks as if it indicates a range or a relationship between two equal items. I would prefer some alternative like Volleyball at the 2012 Summer Olympics: men's qualification. What are the relevant naming conventions? I see that there are several articles using a similar style to that proposed here, like Tennis at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Qualification.
This RM should perhaps be withdrawn, so that a multiple one can be substituted to capture closely related articles like this one: Volleyball at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Women's tournament European qualification. - Using an en dash like this is perfectly acceptable; see WP:DASH, which states en dashes can be used to "mark divisions within a sentence [...] or singly (perhaps instead of a colon)". This is the de facto naming convention for all multi-national sports tournaments that use sub-articles qualifying, group stages, finals, etc. If you want to change this, I would suggest starting a big RfC because there are thousands of sports articles that use an en dash like this. WP:DASH allows en dashes as sentence punctuation within a sentence; in that role, an em dash (unspaced) could equally have been used. Do you argue that this is such a context? It is not, I say. A title is not normally a sentence, and the present title is surely not. This is more like a subtitle, for which a colon is standardly used. I ask again: What are the relevant naming conventions? I'm saying I don't think there are any codified naming conventions for articles such as this. But there are literally thousands (maybe tens of thousands) of articles that use an en dash in this manner. Seriously, look for any sub-articles to do with multi-national sports events and this is how it's done. Personally, I don't think there is any real difference between using a colon or en dash in this situation, but if you do think that's a better idea, one lonely article talk page is not the place to discuss it.
