Name
The cricinfo has no middle name. In "A History of Indian cricket" by Mihir Bose, we have V. C. Sehwag. Thanks, Blnguyen | rant-line 06:41, 1 September 2006 (UTC) He is a son of bitch. He called Bangladesh as an ordinary team. So we called him a monkey.
- When I faced the same problem with people like Yashpal Baburam Sharma and Chetan Jagatram Sharma, I conducted some offline enquires. The explanation that I got was that people from the West usually use their father's first name as the middle name; people from the North often don't use any middle name. The form that BCCI requires the players to fill has a column called "middle name or father's name". So the father's name that middlenameless Northies fill here sometimes get interepreted as their middle name.
- Do you have the second edition of A History of Indian Cricket ? I have only the first edition and would be contacting you often to crosscheck things with the second edition :-) Tintin (talk) 06:51, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
I checked the biography of Sehwag. In the 'facts and figures' section, his name is given as plain 'Virendra Sehwag'. Do you know what the 'C' stands for ? His father's name was Krishan Sehwag ? Tintin (talk) 13:50, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Shouldn't the opening paragraph also mention that he has now been removed from the vice-captaincy of the Test team? And should there be a Records or Career Highlights section like other players? --Shaktimaan 01:04, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

Playing style - Section outdated
Could someone please update these first few lines of the paragraph with the text below -
"As on 15 March 2010, Sehwag has an average of nearly 68 in the first innings of test matches where he has scored 5130 runs, 18 centuries and 12 fifties in 76 matches. In the second innings, his average drops to 31 and has scored 1561 runs, an only century and 9 fifties in 54 innings. The first and second innings difference of 37 runs is the one of the highest and indicates a lack of ability in dealing with more difficult batting conditions as the pitch deteriorates. It could even mean, this great opener has given India solid starts that most other Indian openers have failed to do. An average of 37 in second innings isn't bad either as some great cricketers finish their entire test carrer with average of 35 - 40. Sehwag has a healty test average of 54 with very high strike rate making him one of the most dangerous openers ever. He is one of best Indian cricketers ever produced. "

King pair
Someone needs to edit the article's second paragraph (that is, the paragraph where a string of his cricket records are listed) to add that in August 2011 Virender Sehwag joined a select group of history-making cricketers by becaming only the 13th player in the history of the game to get a king pair in a Test match. This is a highly notable cricketing record, as evidenced by the extreme rarity of its occurrence in Test match history. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.25.216.240 (talk) 17:13, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

virender sehwag is an off break bowler, but it was mentioned in the article as off spin bowler, Though both are having same effect but in spinning it is done in air.while off break on ground after hitting. And it is mentioned that sehwag is back into form in 2008, but he was back into form in icc world cup 2007, he made his comeback with a bang of 114 off 87 balls against Bermuda, and later continued his form in next match against srilanka with an 48. But unfortunately India was eliminated from tournament due to poor performances from other playersvirender sehwag career. And coming to IPL, first edition he top scored for Delhidaredevils and took his team into semis against Rajasthan Royals, interestingly in the first first against he scored unbeaten 94 off just 41 balls against Deccan chargers and took symonds to cleaners by hitting 4 6 4 6 4 6 in his final over and squeezing 30 runs, In 2011 fourth edition, he took Deccan chargers with a single hand while chasing a total of 176 by contributing 75% of runs with his 119 runs off just 56 balls and also he scored two fifties( 80 off 47 balls against kochi tuskers and 77 off 35 against kings X| punjab). In 2012 fifth edition, sehwag has created an monstrous record of five fifties in a row, which was unbelievable record created by an batsman of such destroying attitude, and took his team Delhi daredevils into semis with a single single. And he is the only batsman/captain in T20 cricket history to reach the milestone of five fiftiesvirender sehwag ipl career.

In introduction, the line "In March 2009, Sehwag smashed the fastest century ever scored by an Indian in ODI cricket, from 60 balls" should either be removed or a mention should be made that he no longer holds that record. As is given here, the record was broken by Virat Kohli. Praveshjain1991 (talk) 08:05, 9 November 2014 (UTC)
- The statement still holds true that he "smashed the record". The fact that it's been re-broken doesn't make it any less true. Stickee (talk) 09:57, 9 November 2014 (UTC)
- While the statement is arguably true, it does appear misleading. I have added a "what was till then" qualifier. Please feel free to tweak. Abecedare (talk) 10:16, 9 November 2014 (UTC)
Highest ODI Score
Edit Request: In the article on Virendar Sehwag, on the second paragraph it is mentioned that "His score remains the highest individual score in ODI cricket – 219 off 149 balls." However, Rohit Sharma has rewritten this record to his name with his knock of 264 against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkatta.http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/records/216972.html[1]Rajesh.Subramaniam (talk) 13:09, 15 November 2014 (UTC)

One of the most destructive batsmen in the world, Sehwag, originally a middle-order batsman, has redefined the role of an opener. With minimal footwork but great hand-eye coordination, Sehwag goes after every delivery that deserves to be hit. And many that don’t! He has won many games for India with his big hitting. However, Sehwag is yet to perform as consistently in the Twenty20 format as he does in the longer versions of the game. Apart from being an attacking batsman, he is a handy off-spinner and is known to use his wiles to both check the flow of runs, and take wickets. Sehwag was the “Icon” player for the Delhi Daredevils when the IPL was formed, and was with the franchise till 2013 before being bought by KXIP in the 2014 Auction.
