- I'm reassessing as start class, high importance. This article is extremely lopsided towards recent events: everything before 2010 is cursory. Vincent Gray has been a notable politician in DC for over 20 years, and the press makes frequent reference to his personality, family life, and upbringing; the reader deserves more detail. --M@rēino 20:43, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
Discussion
[edit]- This page expemplifies both the strengths and the weaknesses of collaborative sites like this one. I checked this out earlier this morning, and someone had change this page to say that Mr. Gray is the mayor of D.C. While he will become mayor, barring outlandish circumstances, he's not mayor yet. And when I decided to come back to fix it a few minutes later, I found that someone already had. Bravo, wiki-fixers! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.96.224.11 (talk) 13:43, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
- Could the first sentence be changed so say "mayor-elect" rather than nominee? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 170.121.14.11 (talk) 17:34, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
How can you characterize Gray as an "African American"? If race is a physical characteristic, Gray does share any physical similarities with black Africans (straight hair, straight nose, light skin). And why is it important to use his race to describe "firsts" anyway? This really bends the rule of objectivity and reads more like a racist hagiography. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.23.187.201 (talk) 12:21, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
- There's very little history on Gray given that he's 70 years old. The first date mentioned in the article is 1991 by which time he was almost 50. What did he do prior to that? — Preceding unsigned comment added by ErikJosephson (talk • contribs) 12:44, 31 March 2013 (UTC)

InfoBox need to be updated for current council term.
[edit]Can someone please update the InfoBox to show Vincent Gray's current term as a Councimmember for the 7th District in the Council of the District of Columbia, I'd do it but I can't figure out how to change the information without affecting the original council term and the preceded and succeeded information. Thank you. YborCityJohn (talk) 16:49, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
- It reflects both periods of Council service. He was preceded by Chavous and Alexander. Bangabandhu (talk) 01:44, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
