Ironic?
[edit]Hello, just curious - I may have missed the point but why is it ironic that Vince Hill appeared in an episode of Rainbow? --152.62.109.163 (talk) 19:02, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
Hill-Dunstall composition a New Zealand hit
[edit]The only source given for this is the BBC biography by Pete Chambers who says that Brendan Dugan had a #1 hit in NZ with a song written by Vince Hill & Ernie Dunstall.
This article does not give the song's title, and I can find no evidence for such a hit by Dugan. See, for example, this NZ chart achive, or Dean Scapolo's New Zealand Music Charts 1966-1996. The only charting songs by Brendan Dugan I've found are a #4 in 1975 and a #12 in 1982, and neither is a Hill-Dunstall composition.
However, a Hill-Dunstall composition "Why Or Where Or When" was a #1 hit in NZ in 1968, recorded by NZ singer Mr Lee Grant. Scapolo's New Zealand Music Charts lists it as a #1, as does the Mr Lee Grant Wikipedia article. (There are no real chart sources for NZ until 1966.) It was also released by Vince Hill the previous year, as a B-side.
I'll edit accordingly if nothing turns up to contradict this.
More on the Mr Lee Grant song: here and here.

Songs use "quotes", many other works should be italicized
[edit]There's been some disruption to this effect lately, and I don't have the time, if you do. InedibleHulk (talk) 08:43, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
