MP 40 magazine?

In the Wikipedia article about the MP 40, it says MP 40 magazines can be used with the Vigneron. In this Vigneron article, it says no. I know nothing about guns, but I can see that something somewhere needs correcting. Were older versions incompatible but newer production has been harmonized, or something like that?
