Notes

[edit]

Was he related to French cartographer Jean Jacques Nicolas Huot? FloridaArmy (talk) 15:32, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Some of his maps were created from expeditions. It would be nice to have more information onnthe expeditions, who was involved, and link those here. Me French c'est mal. FloridaArmy (talk) 23:11, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The Bolivia map, at the top of the oage, is from an expedition noted on page 3 here. FloridaArmy (talk) 23:37, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"Gustav Steinmann –with the collaboration of H. Höek in paleontological aspects- divided the Upper Ordovician succession in the Cochabamba region of Bolivia into three units named, from bottom to top, “ Bilobites Sandstein”, “ Lingula Sandstein”, and “Oberer Quarzit” (Steinmann and Höek, 1912)." [1]
