I created this page because it seemed to be a gaping hole in the coverage of GIS on Wikipedia. It's a good start, but it could use further enhancement:

More detailed history? I once saw a conference talk showing McHarg's transparent overlay technique in a Nazi-era German agriculture journal, but I can't find it now.
More details on the algorithm, including a good citation
Implementation in other software, such as spatial SQL extensions
More about overlay with lines and points.
An applications section with several examples
Should Spatial join and Spatial query be part of this page, or should they have their own pages? They are not anywhere else and they are overlay in a sense.Bplewe (talk) 01:20, 27 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
