Production history?
[edit]Why is the production history listed like this?:
- 1912
- 1913-1915
- 1921
I can understand why there would be a break during WWI, but what happened in 1912? This warrants some explanation. Andy Dingley (talk) 13:15, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
- Sorry, delay because mind has been elsewhere. Not a sufficient answer but the reason was the first version in 1912 was (probably some major failing) withdrawn and replaced by a new version for the November 1912 Motor Show. I thought at the time that a reader interested enough to notice that would then read down and see there were three different versions. Recently something made me very angry and I threw away the piles of print-outs of press clippings etc needed to produce a coherent story, I will go look (elsewhere) for the detail and come back here soonish. By the way, from memory (not borne out by the records in WP) it should read 1912. 1912-1915 etc but maybe production didn't start until 1913. More anon. Eddaido (talk) 03:51, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
- (Interim) Culshaw and Horrobin page 331: 25 (D) 1912 and then 25 1913-1915 and then, still on page 331: 25, 1921. When you have facts from contemporary publications (the same from which C & S was almost certainly compiled) C & S quite often and probably sensibly "simplify" things. I have to sort out the 30 hp now and will keep an eye open for further news about the 25. Don't forget but don't hold the breath. When I find the right explanation I can add it to the text. Please feel free to make an interim note there. Thanks, Eddaido (talk) 04:38, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
