VassarVassar (disambiguation) – When people are searching for "Vassar", they are most likely to be searching for Vassar College. Vassar College is by far the most visited page on the disambiguation page, with 28,573 visits last month. The rest aren't even close: the next closest is Phil Vassar with only 4,299 last month, then Vassar Clements at 1,574, then Matthew Vassar at 1,023, and so on. Results for "Vassar" on Google confirm that the college is the primary topic, with other topics appearing about as much as if you search "Harvard", which redirects to the university. • Support Usage is borne out by all-time searchviews (some false positives), showing more likely than all other topics combined. First pages of search results are also almost all for the college on Google Scholar (when using -author:vassar), Google Books, Jstor. Hameltion (talk | contribs) 19:05, 13 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • If we look at the clickstreams for hints of reader behavior, it seems the only other topic of major interest is the hospital, and it's probably below the anonymization thresholds most of the time.

So while the overall level of traffic is small, at least we can measure that the interest in the college rarely dips below one half (and even that might be because of measurement issues - some of the college-related clickstreams may be getting anonymized as well). WikiNav for September shows 39 filtered views. This is a fair bit in comparison, and if we assume that's all for other topics, it's ~50% vs ~36% outgoing. In the two months with somewhat elevated interest, it seems to have been because of a bit more interest in the college. It's probably safe to change to a primary redirect, and measure the same things afterwards. --Joy (talk) 11:31, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
