[edit]I don't know how to flag this properly in the Article, so I'm putting it here to be added by somebody who does: This entry reads like an advert or promotion. It's main sources are the main product pages for the software discussed.
For most of the claims made no source is presented.

[edit]I've added a section on installation because VTK does not seem to have installation instructions that tell you how to make it work with tcl. I'm sure that someone more knowledgable could improve the instructions. Richard Giuly 08:18, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- I deleted this section for a number of reasons. It was written in the first person, not in the right encyclopedic style, written for a very specific platform, and could arguably constitute original research. In Debian, say, an equivalent method for installation is to run the command apt-get install libvtk5-dev, and it'll work with everything. External links to the relevant docs on how to install VTK should be sufficient. Swap 23:20, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
perhaps there should be comments somewhere on how vtk, and any kitware software in general, is impossible to use because they provide absolutely zero useful documentation
- VTK has bigger issues than lack of documentation. There is lack of proper design and lack of proper architecture to deal with first. Solving those would require a complete rewrite, which isn't likely to happen. Considering the overall lack of quality of the library, it might be nice to make mention of this in the article. :--R4gnax (talk) 13:23, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
- Do you have a better toolkit in mind? Do you have references for criticism? Staszek Lem (talk) 22:00, 14 June 2019 (UTC)
Format?
[edit]There's a format named VTK too, which is important since it is also used by f.ex. MayaVi. Or rather it should be called VTKfile because XMLized that's the top tag of the code. Rursus dixit. (mbork3!) 17:20, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
