I take issue with the naming of this page. In particular, the "formerly known as..." section. The official name is still the Medical College of Virginia as noted later in the article. --CCMphysician (talk) 04:28, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

VCU Medical Center → Medical College of Virginia — Per the following: "In 1968, the state legislature merged the Medical College of Virginia with the Richmond Professional Institute to form the Virginia Commonwealth University. During this merger, the agreement stipulated that the MCV would retain its name in perpetuity" as well as the fact that the college is still most commonly referred to as MCV/Medical College of Virginia. armagebedar (talk) 04:51, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Support per WP:UCN (Use Common Names). Unlike most such entities, the official name is not the commonly used name (cf. Rutgers University). This article spent most of its life at Medical College of Virginia until recently becoming the victim of a undiscussed cut and paste move.
