Fair use rationale for Image:VCUMCEmblemC.gif
[edit]Image:VCUMCEmblemC.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I take issue with the naming of this page. In particular, the "formerly known as..." section. The official name is still the Medical College of Virginia as noted later in the article.

VCU Medical Center → Medical College of Virginia — Per the following: "In 1968, the state legislature merged the Medical College of Virginia with the Richmond Professional Institute to form the Virginia Commonwealth University. During this merger, the agreement stipulated that the MCV would retain its name in perpetuity" as well as the fact that the college is still most commonly referred to as MCV/Medical College of Virginia. armagebedar (talk) 04:51, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
Survey
[edit]- Feel free to state your position on the renaming proposal by beginning a new line in this section with

. Since polling is not a substitute for discussion, please explain your reasons, taking into account Wikipedia's policy on article titles.
- Support per WP:UCN (Use Common Names). Unlike most such entities, the official name is not the commonly used name (cf. Rutgers University). This article spent most of its life at Medical College of Virginia until recently becoming the victim of a undiscussed cut and paste move. No matter what the result of this discussion, please histmerge. — AjaxSmack 04:35, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
