Needs cleanup

[edit]

This article is terribly written. It reads like it was written by someone with poor English skills. It's so confusing that I don't dare try to fix it. If someone familiar with the subjects could clean it up that would be great. Thanks. Cresix (talk) 01:46, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I merged a present tense blow-by-blow account with a past tense overview of the case using dozens of different sources. It went together a little awkwardly at times as the various sections fitted together. No one had written a detailed article about it until I finished writing it at 3am. It wasn't difficult to fix it up, you say you didn't dare but be bold in future.--EchetusXe 10:12, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, you say you're not familiar with the subjects so maybe it would therefore be too bold to fix it yourself. Fair enough.--EchetusXe 10:14, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not familiar with the Eriksson sisters. However, I can recognize run-on sentences, incomplete sentences, misspelled words, and other grammatical and stylistic errors. I don't want to change the article myself because I don't want to change to something inaccurate. Someone who knows the subject and knows proper grammar needs to fix it. No offense, but since you're the original editor who wrote sentences with grammatical problems, I'm not sure you're the one to do that. But maybe you can do it. I'm not saying this is a bad article, and I do see improvements. But it needs a lot more work. Cresix (talk) 17:23, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I notice you typed 'offense', the article uses British English, so I changed a few words for consistency with that. Otherwise there are no spelling mistakes on the article. Neither are there any incomplete sentences or grammatical errors, not any more anyway. I feel like I am trying to pass a Featured Article review without any feedback, whereas instead I am reviewing every little detail just to make sure no sentence could be argue to fall foul of the Manual of Style.--EchetusXe 00:35, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I did some more cleanup and removed the tag. If I changed the intended meaning in any way, please discuss here. Thanks. Cresix (talk) 01:04, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No, thats great, thank you. Only way the article can be improved now is with more detail and some pictures. I might create a map of Fenton showing where the events occurred. Thank you for your time and help!--EchetusXe 09:42, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In put from relatives on both sides

[edit]

These links were in the main article but I removed them because forum links should not be in an article. Readers may find them interesting however:

I removed the links for words such as Tea Bag, Hammer, Laptop, Tile; I hope this is OK. Feel free to revert if this edit seems inappropriate :) Buckethed (talk) 17:52, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Crushed her legs

[edit]

The lorry crushed her legs but later she got back on her feet? Doesn't seem plausible to me. Needs clarification. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SpeakFree (talkcontribs) 07:35, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Ursula in particular was fortunate not to be killed instantly. Instead, she was immobilised as the lorry had crushed her legs... Sabina got to her feet".--EchetusXe 10:39, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
OIC. Sorry, overread it. Never mind. SpeakFree (talk)(contribs) 17:46, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

After mentioning that Ursula was injured - specifically that her legs were crushed - nothing else is said/ written about her. The man Sabina murdered was supposedly going to help her try to locate Ursula in the hospital, but nothing is ever said/ written about what hospital she was in.

So, what ever became of Ursula? Did she survive her injuries? Did she keep her legs? Did she ever walk on them again? Did she have anything to say about why she and her sister ran into traffic on a busy highway? Did she play any part in her sister's murder trial? Now that I have read about this story, i'd like to know these things. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.6.107.185 (talk) 01:02, 29 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Speed of lorry

[edit]

The article says Ursula collided with a "40-tonne articulated lorry travelling at around 60–70 mph". Lorries of this type are limited in the UK to 56mph. Having reviewed the video footage of the collision it would appear that the lorry was a UK vehicle so it's unlikely that it would be travelling anywhere near 70mph on a flat section of motorway. I've updated this section of the article unless anyone else can provide information to prove the vehicle was travelling at such speeds. Jacobsdad (talk) 11:12, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
