I strongly disagree with the PROD of this page. As a quick Google search will show, Bellugi satisfies several of the criteria for notability of academics, including:
1.) The person's research has made significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources. (Bellugi's research on the neurological bases of sign language and Williams Syndrome is described in the article; inline refs will be added shortly)
Quite right, so I removed it. Anyone can remove a PROD , including an article creator or subject (article creators can't remove speedies) - so one need not feel hesitance about removing prods, especially in such a clear case.John Z (talk) 08:11, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
