Even moreso than Theories of urban planning and History of urban planning (neither of which are good on this front to begin with), this article seems to be under the misapprehension that urban planning is an entirely Greco-Roman and Western European concept. At minimum bits of Ancient Chinese urban planning and Chinese urban planning need to be incorporated here, not least since the PRC is still the principal urban developer on the planet at the moment and the highly segmented nature of their cities—nearly everyone lives in what Americans would consider "gated communities"—had such an enormous impact on the relative success/harshness of Chinese lockdowns versus their ludicrously porous Western equivalents, a point that nearly no English-language media ever picked up on in part because it's invisible here on Wikipedia. — LlywelynII 16:32, 1 January 2024 (UTC)
Editing for consistency: Oxford Commas & More
[edit]Hello all, I wanted to add an explanation to the edit made to the document. i worked to ensure that the serial comma usage was consistent throughout the article as written in the style guide Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Spelling#British English with "-ize" (Oxford spelling). From this article, I made some minor edits to ensure better alignment. Gcf00005 (talk) 03:46, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
