Inaccurate redirect
Hi everyone. As I am an employee of the university and not allowed to make direct edits on the article, I am pointing out that there is a need to remove the redirect that currently exists on Intercollege to University of Nicosia.
In 2007, Intercollege had to split into two entities after it received university status: the University of Nicosia was formed and took over the academic programs, and Intercollege continued its operations as a vocational college.
So, a separate article needs to be created for Intercollege. While affiliated, the two are completely different entities. Kitsios.a (talk) 07:24, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks Kitsios.a. I'll add a Split template to the article, and hopefully someone else will find the time to do the work. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 08:53, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you Laterthanyouthink. As I am intimately aware of the facts here, I may suggest edits to the Intercollege article and you can approve as you see fit Kitsios.a (talk) 09:03, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
- So long as you can provide at least one reliable source (and preferably a secondary source) with the relevant info to back up what you've written above, I see no reason why a brief stub article at least couldn't be created quite quickly. I can do that, but no promises that it'll be within 24 hours! Laterthanyouthink (talk) 09:17, 27 October 2020 (UTC)

- Just by way of explanation, in no way supporting or opposing the split, a split is not necessarily required just because Intercollege is now a separate institution. If Intercollege is independently notable then it can (not must) have a separate page. If it is not notable on its own account, then a redirect here is perfectly acceptable. The redirect does not imply that the two institutions are the same thing or even related. There is a description here of the relationship between the University of Nicosia and Intercollege and that could be considered sufficient, or expanded here, or split. A good way to demonstrate that a split would be a good idea is often to expand the information in this article so that it could easily stand on its own on a separate page, together with supporting references, which can make it very obvious why the separate subject is notable in its own right. - I have just reverted an edit which claimed to be changing the logo size, but actually removed most of the information relating to the pre-2007 history when the institution was known as Intercollege. This information should remain here until a decision has been made about how the name Intercollege should be treated in Wikipedia. There were also invalid style changes such as caps case in section headers. Because of intervening edits, I may also have stamped on some valid updates to infobox information, but I don't feel qualified to try and correct that. Sorry for any inconvenience.
