Where in the Navy hierarchy?
[edit]Clearly the Navy Nurse Corps must fit somewhere in the Navy organizationally, but I can't figure out where from this article. If it's here, it's well-hidden. I'd guess it's part of the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, but I don't have a citation for that. - Jmabel | Talk 17:50, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
First Navy Nurse Corps Officers to receive Purple Heart
[edit]The information concerning the first Navy Nurse Corps Officers to receive the Purple Heart is incorrect. The first Navy Nurse Corps Purple Heart was not from Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom.
The first Navy Nurse Corps Officers to receive the Purple Heart were LT Ruth Mason, LT Frances Crumpton, LT Barbara Wooster and LTJG Ann Darby Reynolds who were wounded when US Navy Station Saigon was attacked in 1964. This is according to the Navy Nurse Corps Official Website on Navy Knowledge Online (also known as "NC NKO"). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thebatsignal (talk • contribs) 20:45, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
