USA will bid no new contracts

[edit]

The parent companies of ULA (Boeing and Lockheed Martin will allow USA to bid no more new contracts, per this 6 Jan 2012 article in Space News: http://www.spacenews.com/civil/120106-usa-stop-pursuing-business.html. The source does cover the USD$280M contract from late 2011 to pay USA to prepare the Shuttles for museums, shut down shuttle facilities, etc. N2e (talk) 15:15, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

no new bids, no active contracts

[edit]

http://www.unitedspacealliance.com/ now says:

Current Status of USA – As of September 30, 2014, USA no longer holds active contracts and will not pursue future contracts. However, USA will continue to operate in an administrative business capacity to manage government contract close-out requirements. Close-out of government contracts historically takes 5-7 years. The eventual closure of USA necessitates that USA begin reviewing the benefit-related plans it currently administers. At the time that any plan is affected, participants in those plans will be promptly notified.
