The article as in its current version is basically a WP:FORK on the article on the election, saying rather little about the supposed organization in question. In regards to the factoid on the dissolution of the organization "nine days later", this isn't what Senn is stating. He says that it was "forgotten" nine days later, and affirms that the organization existed in name only. I'm googling around a bit for additional sources, facts and factoids, but so far it appears to me that: the Union of the Working People of Lithuania would not have been conceptualized as an organization (with a central committee, press organ, office, district branches, etc.) but rather an electoral alliance for a specific election in a specific historical context. As such it is not particularily weird that once the elections would have passed, so we could reduce the insinuatory tone.

Looking at the Union of the Working People of Lithuania platform, available at https://www.epaveldas.lt/preview?id=C1B0004351219 , there is really no mention at all of any sort of organizational structure. Notably this document isn't published by the Union itself, but issued by the Young Communist League of Lithuania Central Committee. The platform is also available in Occupation and annexation: - Volume 2 by Algirdas Jakubčionis, although there appears to be discrepancies between the original posted at epaveldas and Jakubčionis' rendering (notably the original uses 'Sovietu' for Soviet, whilst Jakubčionis uses 'Tarybu'. Not sure why Jakubčionis would do this, perhaps different versions of the platform where in circulation). With the obvious risk to engage in WP:OR - as to the claim that "The electoral platform of the Union called for various reforms and close relation with the Soviet Union, but the incorporation into the Soviet Union was not mentioned." I'd say that anyone reading the platform in the context of 1940 would have been able to understand that integration into USSR was eminent ("Tegyvuoja broliška draugystė ir tvirta sąjunga su didžiąja ir nenugalima Sovietų Socialistinių Respublikų!" - 'Long live fraternal friendship and strong union with the great and invincible Soviet Socialist Republics!' is a pretty explicit way of saying integration into USSR. It does not talk about a 'close relation with the Soviet Union', it talks about 'union' with the Soviet Republics in plural). Here Lithuania in the last 30 years is grossly misrepresenting the original source. It would be useful balance the Lithuania in the last 30 years with other third party source for a more factual representation of events.

In any case wording 'Despite the latter fact,...' is argumentative and OR. But with the above-mentioned commentary in mind, I'd say that it's even less appropriate.

In terms of content, since the article subject is essentially an electoral platform for a single election, it would be interesting to have more detail on the program (through third party ref) and candidates.

In terms of the platform, it's worth noting that it is not signed by the 'Union of the Working People of Lithuania' but rather by different representations of workers at factories, the Central Bureau of Trade Unions, LJKS, LKP and some others. A listing of signatories would be of interest to the article, I think here we could use Jakubčionis as the ref. -- Soman (talk) 16:32, 18 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Feel free to improve the article however you think appropriate. I don't WP:OWN it. I merely fill the blank and fixed some other confusion. Fore example somewhere else in wp someone wrote that the ComParty of L transformed into or Union of WPL (or something similar). Lokys dar Vienas (talk) 17:54, 18 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
As for ceasing to exist, Senn wrote that it was "resurrected" , meaning indeed it was gone, so I wrote what wrote. I am not keen on writing about politics and I had no interest in detailed research. From what I got, I have an impression there was no such organization at all, merely a name. I don't know if there is a special term for such entity. That's all what I can say on the article text. Lokys dar Vienas (talk) 17:54, 18 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
