I am the chaiperson of the Archives Committee at Green Hills Country Club. The article is based upon more than 4 years of research and much of the article appeared in a book (that I authored) that was published in 2005.Joemichelucci (talk) 20:05, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's all very well and good, but it reads like an advertisement (see WP:Spam). Please read WP:N and WP:Notability (organizations and companies) for notability policies and guidelines. The article needs verifiable references. Also if the same, or largely similar, text appears in a book that is copyrighted, then it is a copyright violation and will be deleted per WP:Copyvio. Finally, please sign your messages on talk pages by adding 4 tildes (~) at the end. Thank you. – ukexpat (talk) 16:02, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have added several references. This article was never meant to be an advertisement. It is for informationsl purposes and reflects countless hours of research by our committee. The Union League Golf and Country Club is no longer, but it's history and ties to Dr. MacKenzie are very important. Also the book that was published in 2005 was not copyrighted.Thank you.Joemichelucci (talk) 19:59, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I propose merging Union League Golf and Country Club into Green Hills Country Club. It appears to be the same organization, just under a different owner. I think this is a strong article (i.e., this is not about the quality/time the Archivist above invested), everything else static, but I don't think it's notable enough to be its own page. It focuses mainly on Alistair MacKenzie, not the club, and has an excessive amount of detail for an org that existed for ~3 years and was not the site of anything particularly notable. I propose it be condensed to capture the important details and added to the Green Hills page as a section. Puppies937 (talk) 00:29, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Puppies937: Cursory look over the article suggest that the Green Hills Country Club article can be wiped outright and redirected to Union League Golf and Country Club imo. -- BriefEdits (talk) 23:55, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Support merge as initially proposed, on the grounds that the Green Hills Country Club name has been in existence for most of the clubs history (ever since 1945). While the current content of the page is could well be deleted as unreferenced puffery, the title seems the most appropriate one for the joint content. Klbrain (talk) 13:46, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
