CSI:NY

[edit]

The Underground World Home was featured in an episode of CSI:NY (the episode named Manhattanhenge I think). Perhaps it was intentional that it was omitted from the article as it not really relevant. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Krokodilien71 (talkcontribs) 08:31, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've included it in the new Pop Culture section. kencf0618 (talk) 23:20, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Article was created 25 April. No issues of copyvio or plagiarism. All sources appear reliable. QPQ is done. Hooks are interesting and sourced. I like them both, but prefer the primary hook. I enjoyed this one. All ready to go! Thriley (talk) 04:35, 25 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'll get to this shortly.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 00:06, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • File:Underground World Home living room.png Read the brochure more carefully; this is a photo of the house in Colorado removed and replaced with floor plan
  • I'll have to trust you that the Plainview Herald's copyright was not renewed
  • The brochure is out of copyright and I want to see the floor plan in lieu of the living room. I'd also like to see photos of the actual interior of this house if you can find them. I added the floor plan, regarding the interior photos, I have done a fairly comprehensive search for free images without success. I will keep searching
  • The written description of the house really needs to supplemented with the floor plan. I'd also suggest cutting the room sizes. I added the floor plan
  • Who is Mrs. Glenn Smith? If she's not notable, I suggest dropping her name.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 17:26, 26 March 2023 (UTC) I dropped her name from the article. Bruxton (talk) 18:44, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Texas mural artist. She's cited, so she's included. kencf0618 (talk) 00:51, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Kencf0618: Why was Underground_World_Home_living_room.png in the Underground World Home article removed? Your comment was "Deleted egregious error." Greg Henderson (talk) 00:44, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I hadn't read the brochure or read this talk page closely. That's of the underground home in Colorado, unfortunately. kencf0618 (talk) 00:48, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The Worlds Fair house was modeled with the same design as the undergroud house in Colorado, which was completed first. The brochure also says New York Worlds's Fair 1964-1965. I do not think it is correct to remove it as it is a representation of the underground house in New York. Perhaps the caption should read: Undergournd Home in Colorado used in brochure for New York Worlds's Fair. Thanks for updating the article. I am curious to know your interest in the Underground World home. I visited the underground home in Colorado and Las Vegas but never saw the one in New York. Good point. I didn't want to presume, but now we have enough context to include the Colorado prototype. The expo UWH wasn't a proof of concept but an example of the concept for public exhibition... I'm glad there are good media of the three or four prototyptes, because there are very little media of the model itself. I'll sleep on this and get back to it. kencf0618 (talk) 02:29, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
