Name - Uintah vs Uinta
[edit]As a geological feature, the far more common usage is Uinta Basin, not Uintah. I realize that with redirects and so on it does not really matter, just mentioning it. Cheers Geologyguy (talk) 20:36, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
Uintah -vs- Uinta Basin
[edit]No one, and I mean no one, who knows anything about the Uintah Basin would ever refer to it as the "Uinta" basin. Only Geologists and residents of our neighboring state Colorado would spell it that way. The "Uintah" mountains are known best because they have an East to West orientation, differing from the rest of the Rocky mountain range.
Uintah -vs- Uinta Basin
[edit]Living in Park City, and playing in the mountains, it is without a doubt Uinta. I am currently looking at "Uinta 2" map which describes a section of the High Uinta Wilderness. All literary references to the Uintas are indeed spelled without the h on the end. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.36.83.131 (talk) 01:17, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
