Please see "On April the 9th 1972 (see https://en.wikipedia.org › wiki › Battle_of_An_Lộc) while supporting RVN and American units close to the DMZ, the USS John R. Craig DD-885 took shore battery fire." I tried to find information about the USS John R. Craig, and was unable to do so. I looked at the article on the Battle of An Loc and followed the link to the front page of the English Wikipedia, which had no reference either.

This is not at all my area of expertise so I am not sure what to do next. Thank you bobdog54 (talk) 22:09, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I wish I had documentation, but I do remember my mom talking about that incident probably when I was around 8 or 9 (so a tad over 4 decades ago). Unfortunately, all I can remember of her story is her lying in bed, listening to the radio and worried sick, because the Craig was fired upon. My dad was serving on board the Craig at the time, second to last assignment before the USS Kirk DE-1087, on which he was/is a plank owner.  :) 96.41.170.11 (talk) 03:45, 14 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
