What is the lasting effect of this event ? LGA talkedits 07:58, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have to not-notable tag the article to ask this question? And if you've merge tagged it, haven't you already made up your mind? — Lfdder (talk) 08:51, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
If it can be demonstrated it is notable I will withdraw the merge request. LGA talkedits 08:56, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This article should stay for many reasons as it is notable. First the two pilots died, and second it destroyed a complete aircraft (hull loss). In the article WP:AIRCRASH, it cleary says for a stand alone article "The accident was fatal to humans; or the accident involved hull loss or serious damage to the aircraft or airport;" It is both of those , so this page should not get merged or deleted, it is a great article. Also if you think this not notable, go ahead and delete other Airplane cargo crashes, whats the difference? Nothing. Also, do tell what the difference was with this and Asiana Airlines Flight 214, yes that one was a commercial airliner, but still three people did die. Like I said this is an awesome article. - User:Martinillo (User talk:Martinillo) 05:12, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As it stands this event does pass the inclusion policy as it is just a news story, there is no lasting significance to it either claimed or demonstrated. You also mis-quote the essay WP:AIRCRASH. LGA talkedits 09:15, 12 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What is the difference in between UPS Airlines Flight 6, National Airlines Flight 102, Asiana Airlines Flight 991, I mean those ones are still cargo aircraft and are not very notable. But the are still on wikipedia. So I don't see why we should merge/delete this page. User:Martinillo (User talk:Martinillo) 17:56 12 September 2013 (UTC)

Two resulted in safety recommendations and new safety standards, regulations and practices for cargo. The National flight probably will too; but not this one, I don't think. We can resurrect it if it does. — Lfdder (talk) 22:10, 12 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As you can see, it's under the (CC BY-NC-SA 2.0) license, which commons isn't compatible with commons. However that license has a new version, the (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) license. The photo is still under the older license however. Tigerdude9 (talk) 14:55, 9 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The NC bit means it is not free to use here. MilborneOne (talk) 19:18, 9 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

i abaut to rework accident original:

[edit]

The aircraft crashed around 04:47 local time (CDT, 09:47 UTC) while making a localizer nonprecision approach to runway 18 at Birmingham–Shuttlesworth International Airport. It clipped trees and struck ground three times uphill. The fuselage broke apart, with the nose coming to rest about 200 yd (180 m) away from the initial point of impact, and the rest of it about 80 yd (70 m) farther down towards the runway and about 1 kilometer (0.6 mi) from its edge and catching fire. Both crew members died in the accident.: 1–9
