[edit]Where is the proof for the claims here? The links at the bottom do not match the claims made in the article for the performance of this weapon. It reads like an advert now.
proof and source
[edit]- The Type 81-1 is similar to the Type 81 but has a foldable stock. The Type 81 squad machine gun is heavier (5.15 kg), has a longer barrel, slightly higher rate of fire (700 rounds per minute), and fires from either the standard 30 round magazine or a 75 round drum. From field and combat results, the feedback from PLA and foreign users, the accuracy of the Type 81 is better than that of the license produced AK-47 and is closer to that of the American M-16, but still retaining equal reliability. The Type 81 has been exported to various countries, primarily Asian and African.*
proof it plz there is no source whats so ever--Esmeralda1226 (talk) 18:03, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
Strengthened lede section
[edit]Tried to improve on the lede by providing more history of the weapon, as well as how it led to the Type 87/QBZ-95 series of weapons. Also put in a bit in about its service both inside and outside of China, including its current modern use. If anyone else has information about the history and design of the rifle, particularly about its designer and design history, feel free to add it to the article and lede. Also removed the infobox after submitting the edit. SmittenGalaxy (talk) 19:00, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
