edit war
[edit]An IP who self-identifies as Ashley Munroe, Executive Director of the Lincoln Park Trixie Society, is edit warring on this article. I tend to agree that some of the material is questionable, but endless edit warring is not the right approach to improving the article. Anyone want to make any suggestions? - Deletion of article? k_scheik (talk) 20:15, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
- The more I look at this the worse it smells. Most of the links are not WP:RS or are dead. The supposed National Geographic ref is actually just a blog posting of notes by a National Geographic writer who says that he can't decide if the Trixie website is a parody or real. The "Indignant Online" source is a blog, is listed under "humor", and cannot be found even though the blog's entries are searchable. The Flakmag.com source cannot be found even though its archive is searchable., etc. The "Chicago Tribune" source does use the term, but clearly calls the Society a satire website (and it seems to be inactive now). I'm really not seeing much use in keeping this article. Meters (talk) 22:01, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
- We don't delete articles because a troll decides to vandalize it. Kindzmarauli (talk) 20:26, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
- You do realize you are commenting on a thread that is ten months old? And that the edit war ended when the IP was blocked? And that no-one ever put the article up for deletion? Meters (talk) 21:43, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
- You do realize that people frequently come along months later? And read talk page discussions? And decide to submit things for deletion based on those often quite old discussions? Kindzmarauli (talk) 20:47, 29 December 2015 (UTC)

Original research
[edit]Please provide a quotation that the reference cited claims that the term "has gone on to be used by Chicago businesses" Staszek Lem (talk) 19:22, 29 December 2015 (UTC)
- Each of the articles mentions a specific Chicago business that is using the term. Kindzmarauli (talk) 20:45, 29 December 2015 (UTC)
- YOur phrasing was too general. I changed it to be more specific. I am not going to explain you the WP:SYNTH rule; such trivial case; case closed. Staszek Lem (talk) 21:32, 29 December 2015 (UTC)
Merge proposal
[edit]If there are no major objections, can we consider merging Trixie with Essex girl and Airhead subculture, similar materialistic and mainstream contemporary middle class subcultures date back to the 80s?
"Chad and Trixie"
[edit]According to Chad, the female counterpart to the Chad, in slang, is the Stacy now so it would be "Chad and Stacy" instead. --Hodsha (talk) 15:52, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
