geographic range of "var. album"
[edit]The claim that var. album is restricted to the Smokies is not supported by the cited source. Weakley maps it well beyond the southern Appalachians, while merely noting that it is particularly common there. Doppelbrau (talk) 06:12, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
- POWO restricts var. album to eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina. FSUS notes its distribution is "poorly understood", which is generally true, I think. The text was edited to this effect. Tom Scavo (talk) 13:29, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
