[edit]The conservation status needs updating -- post-white nose disease, "least concern" doesn't apply. I don't know where the status information is gathered from, though. 216.227.56.30 (talk) 00:05, 28 June 2017 (UTC)

First reading
[edit]Basically the article seems well written and pretty comprehensive. A few points that struck me -
- "French zoologist Frédéric Cuvier. Cuvier " - Best not to have two Cuviers consecutively.
- done
- "the "perimyotine group". The perimyotine group was" - Again, this is a bit too repetitive.
- done
- "It has blond fur " - As you are starting a new section, you need a name here.
- done
- "They are seasonal breeders," - The same is true here. It is best as far as possible to either use singular or plural in discussing the bat, but not dodge back and forth.
- fixed
- "Young do not reach sexual maturity in their first fall; they do not breed until they are a year old." - I think "a year old" is unhelpful, perhaps use "their second fall" or somesuch.
- revised phrasing
- The "Behavior" section uses the word "roost" nine times.
- Was able to remove one instance, though not sure further simplification is possible as this is the accurate term for both the noun and the verb
- "human structures" - Maybe "buildings"
- changed
- In the "Diet and foraging" section, you have a mixture of singular and plural bats
- fixed
- "Predators, parasites, and disease" section starts with "Its" and there is more singular/plural alternation
- fixed
- "I wonder whether "Relationship to people" is a good section title?
- I'm trying to have internal consistency with other bat GAs I've written in terms of section titles and order. #Relationship to people is also found in Pteropus, Indian flying fox, big brown bat, and little brown bat. Do you have a suggestion for an alternative? I would just want to make sure I changed it in other articles as well.
- Looking back at the lead now to see whether it summarises the main text well, I see it mentions the former name "eastern pipistrelle", but this is not mentioned elsewhere
- added to taxonomy section
- The lead suffers from the singular/plural problem again.
- fixed
- Wikilink Echolocation, roost, gestation, taxon and any other less well-known terms
- added
- That's all for now. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 20:02, 29 October 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for taking on the review, Cwmhiraeth. I should have time to get to this tomorrow! Enwebb (talk) 15:42, 30 October 2019 (UTC)
- Looking at the citations, some of them need italics for species names, and #13 has a different date format from the other references. Give me a ping when you are ready for me to give the article another run through. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 18:44, 7 November 2019 (UTC)
- fixed. Ready for another readthrough, Cwmhiraeth. Enwebb (talk) 03:06, 8 November 2019 (UTC)
